Pet Pal

Vlad

Every pet has a story to tell, and through their unconditional love and loyalty, they teach us the true meaning of compassion and friendship.

About Vlad

Bay Area Pet Pals welcomed Vlad to the team in the summer of 2021, and we are thrilled to have him. Vlad has a deep love for all animals, with a special fondness for dogs and cats.

Growing up with an orange tabby tomcat as his childhood companion, Vlad understands just how special and unique animals are. He believes each dog and cat is an individual with their own personality, feelings, and needs. Currently, Vlad cares for his wife’s two senior cats, both of whom were once semi-feral strays and now require special medical attention and care.

Vlad has been actively involved in animal welfare for years. He’s a proud member of the ASPCA and the Humane Society of the United States, where he participates in their Legislative Action Team, advocating for animal welfare at both state and federal levels. For the past four years, Vlad has also volunteered at the Peninsula Humane Society, working with dogs of all sizes, helping them until they find their forever homes.

In addition to his volunteer work, Vlad donates to several animal rescues, including Pets-in-Need in San Mateo County and Muttville senior dog rescue in San Francisco. He and his wife also support two cats at The Cat House on the Kings animal shelter near Fresno and a retired racehorse at the CHAS sanctuary in the North Bay.

Originally from Prague, Czech Republic, Vlad has spent most of his life in San Mateo. He works as a bookkeeper and manages a small family trust, which leaves him plenty of time to pursue his love for animals. In his spare time, Vlad enjoys camping, hiking, reading, and traveling to explore new places.

As a Pet Pal, Vlad is excited to meet your pets and will take care of them with the love and attention they deserve while you’re away. He believes every animal is a unique and special soul, and he’s committed to treating them with the utmost care.
