Small & Medium Dog Boarding

At Bay Area Pet Pals, your small dog gets to stay and play in a loving home environment! Dogs have the freedom to roam both inside our home and in the yard, and we even take them on walks for extra fun.

Our Dog Boarding Services are specially designed for dogs under 40 lbs. In some cases, we may be able to accommodate larger dogs – feel free to inquire about availability!

While we don’t board cats, we do have one of our own who is very dog-friendly. For this reason, we cannot board dogs that are not comfortable around cats.

Before confirming a Dog Boarding booking, we will schedule a “meet and greet” with you and your dog. If all goes well, we will arrange a daycare test stay to ensure your dog is comfortable in our environment.

Please Note:

Our Dog Boarding and Daycare services are only available in Calaveras County and are not offered in the Bay Area.

Dog Boarding Policies & Fees

Before scheduling our Dog Boarding Service, we encourage you to read and review our detailed Policies & Fees. Understanding these guidelines will help ensure a smooth and worry-free experience for both you and your pet.

Our policies cover important information on service limitations, payment, scheduling, cancellations, and emergency procedures.

To ensure the best care for your pet and to avoid any misunderstandings, please take a moment to familiarize yourself with these details. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated, and we’re here to answer any questions you may have.

Dog Boarding and Daycare services are only available in Calaveras County and are not offered in the Bay Area at this time.
Pre-Payment Policy
Fees for Dog Boarding and Daycare Services need to be paid in advance at the time of booking. Full payment is due within 7 days from the time of the booking. Failure to pay within 7 days will result in cancelation of your requested dates for boarding or Daycare.
Emergency Vet Care Policy
We will never leave an ill or injured pet untreated in an emergency. It is a requirement that we have your consent to use either your specified Veterinarian or one of our choosing. If your Vet/Clinic/Pet Hospital is not available or is too far away, we will use one of our local pet emergency service providers. We will make every attempt possible to contact you in any such emergency. If we do not have a sitter who is available to stay at the Vet with your pet, it could be required that your pet remain in the Vet’s care and be picked up later. If, by any chance, the Vet recommends additional care, your pet may need to be boarded at the Vet/Clinic/Pet Hospital. If we cannot reach you, we will do what is in the best interest of your pet and follow the professional opinion of the Veterinarian. You must agree to cover the possible emergency medical care when booking services with us to a minimum of $500, and also provide credit card information to Bay Area Pet Pals prior to your absence in case we cannot reach you for any reason. There may also be a fee of $50 per hour for transport, waiting at the Vet/Clinic/Pet Hospital, and/or picking up any prescribed pet medication.
Cancelation Policy
Please ensure that cancelations are made at least 30 days in advance. Scheduled Dog Boarding Services canceled with less than 30 days’ notice will typically not be eligible for a refund. Ensure all updates, modifications, or cancelations are communicated in writing through our website contact form or directly to: Lynda@bayareapetpals.com.
Pet Supplies
We ask that you leave enough supplies for your dog(s) while you are away. If we have to go shopping to purchase food or other items, there is an additional $50 fee as well as the cost of goods.
Emergency Contact
You will be asked to provide an emergency contact that can be called to pick up your dog if your dog becomes destructive, acts in any aggressive manner, keeps us awake at night, etc. No refunds will be given in this case. If you cannot provide an alternate place for your pet in this type of situation, one will be chosen by Bay Area Pet Pals and you will be billed and responsible for the charges from the other pet caregiver. This has never happened due to the pre-screening process, but be aware that things can happen that are unforeseen.
