Each visit is tailored to your pets’ needs and can include a variety of services. For dogs, we offer fun walks and engaging playtime to keep them active and happy. For all pets, we ensure they are well-fed, comfortable, and given plenty of affection. We also take care of essential home tasks such as watering plants, cleaning cat litter boxes, small cage maintenance, and general household duties like bringing in your mail or moving garbage cans to and from the curb.

Pet Sitting Policies & Fees

Before scheduling our Pet Sitting Service, we encourage you to read and review our detailed Policies & Fees. Understanding these guidelines will help ensure a smooth and worry-free experience for both you and your pet.

Our policies cover important information on service limitations, payment, scheduling, cancellations, and emergency procedures.

To ensure the best care for your pet and to avoid any misunderstandings, please take a moment to familiarize yourself with these details. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated, and we’re here to answer any questions you may have.

Please inform us in advance of any special instructions or specific requirements for your pet or home, and we will do our best to accommodate your requests.

Pre-Payment Policy

Fees for this service need to be paid at the time of your reservation to secure your booking. All correspondence must go through the main Bay Area Pet Pals office, not your pet sitter. Cat Owners

It is necessary for your cat(s) to remain indoors for the duration of your absence during our Pet Sitting services. Twice a day cat visits are completed in the morning before 11:30AM and in the afternoon between 4:00PM – 8:00PM. While we cannot guarantee an exact time for each visit, we do our best to arrive around the same times each day.

Pet Supplies

It is necessary that you provide a ready supply of pet food, treats, poop bags, litter, medicines, and any other supplies we need to care for your home and pets, for your entire time away. If your Pet Sitter has to go shopping to purchase food or other items, there is an additional $50 fee as well as the cost of goods.

Pet Waste

All prices quoted assume that your cat litter boxes, pet cages and dog poop in the yard have been completely cleaned (within a maximum of 24 hours) prior to our first visit. If there is excessive pet waste, an extra fee of at least $25 will be billed upon completion of the first visit to cover the additional time and effort to clean up.

Pet Medications

If your pet(s) require medications to be administered, please ensure the Pet Medication Form is completed prior to booking any Pet Sitting Service. There is an additional fee for administering medications, depending on the type, frequency, and difficulty. We also need to confirm in advance that a sitter is available who is trained to handle medications or injections. Be sure to notify us in advance if medication administration is needed so we can make the proper arrangements. Insulin injections carry an additional fee of $15 per visit, while other medication administration ranges from $5 and up per visit.

“Early” & “After Hour” Visits

Visits before 8:00AM and after 7:00PM may be available for an additional fee of $20 per visit. Please coordinate with us in advance prior to scheduling these visits so we can make sure we can accommodate you.

Emergency Vet Care Policy

We will never leave an ill or injured pet untreated in an emergency. It is a requirement that we have your consent to use either your specified Veterinarian or one of our choosing. If your Vet/Clinic/Pet Hospital is not available or is too far away, we will use one of our local pet emergency service providers. We will make every attempt possible to contact you in any such emergency. If we do not have a sitter who is available to stay at the Vet with your pet, it could be required that your pet remain in the Vet’s care and be picked up later. If, by any chance, the Vet recommends additional care, your pet may need to be boarded at the Vet/Clinic/Pet Hospital. If we cannot reach you, we will do what is in the best interest of your pet and follow the professional opinion of the Veterinarian. You must agree to cover the possible emergency medical care when booking services with us to a minimum of $500. There may also be a fee of approximately $75 per hour for transport, waiting at the Vet/Clinic/Pet Hospital, and/or picking up any prescribed pet medication.

Cancelation Policy

Please provide a full 7 day notice for cancellations for Pet Sitting Visits. For any bookings made during November, December, January, July, or August, we require a 30-day advance notice for cancellations. Ensure all updates, modifications, or cancellations are communicated in writing through our website contact form or directly to: Lynda@bayareapetpals.com. We kindly request that you refrain from reaching out to your sitter directly. Lynda manages all of the sitters schedules and online calendars. Failure to make changes or cancellations through our website or via email may result in missed visits and charges for services that could have otherwise been credited. A $20 holiday surcharge per pet visit will be applied for pet sitting services provided during holidays and holiday weekends.

In most cases, Key Storage Lock Boxes are required for Dog Walking and Pet Sitting Services. If you cannot use a Key Storage Lock Box for any reason, please Contact Us so that we can discuss alternatives.
